New Zealand, Christchurch - February 7, 2006 - ZoDAL Mobile continues on from last year's success where they developed the world's first internet connected Flash Lite game Channel (Rugby Haka Mania) - this time creating the world's first multi-player game developed with Adobe's Flash Lite 2.0 platform. The "Rugby World" multi-player game is ZoDAL's latest interactive multimedia mobile entertainment product. Currently ZoDAL is developing for companies in both New Zealand and Australia, and are in negotiations for an exciting project in Japan. ZoDAL's creative team came up with the game concept, and developed the graphical mobile game to plug into their LINKA mobile game server. This supplies the added dimension of real-time graphical play against live competitors, directly from your phone. ZoDAL worked in collaboration with Christchurch company, Bootstrap IT, to make the game function on the JAIN SLEE / RHINO platform. JAIN SLEE is a telco infrastructure middleware developed by Wellington based OpenCloud Ltd). OpenCloud will be using the Rugby World game to show case their platform during the 3GSM conferenece at the Intel Corporation booth. The 3GSM World Conference being held in Spain this month will be attended by over 50,000 visitors and well over 900 international telcos, mobile developers and operators will be exhibiting. As big supporters of the JAIN SLEE initiative, New Zealand Trade and Enterprise identified ZoDAL as the best candidates to develop a multi-player graphical mobile game to showcase on the platform. ZoDAL was able to come up with an engaging and challenging game concept with broad appeal which will open opportunities to create more games based around LINKA , their mobile game server framework. ZoDAL's managing director Chris Blair says he really enjoyed the experience of developing the game. "It's great to be able to collaborate with other New Zealand Companies and develop mobile technology in partnership, so together we can take it to the world stage. LINKA, our new multimedia game framework will have a significant international impact, as it highlights new methods in which telcos such as Vodafone can provide content, and deliver that content through a sound financial model." The platform can be used by telcos such as Telecom, Vodafone, Virgin and TelstraClear, as well as the hundreds of others around the world. Vodafone Spain has already implemented the system with much success. ZoDAL's Business Development Director, Ghada Vanderpool thinks that 3G network and content opportunities are not yet fully understood by telcos and other mobile content providers. "The idea is that by showcasing the caliber of 3rd generation graphical mobile entertainment that can be created, telcos internationally and hopefully here at home will jump on board realizing the revenue benefits." Chris Blair says "It's a great situation to be in - as New Zealand companies begin to realize what they can achieve in the new mobile space, and when the restrictive Telco monopoly of New Zealand becomes a little more unbundled, ZoDAL will be already ideally placed as the team that can create not only world class 3G entertainment, but also JAIN SLEE compatible 3G entertainment and graphic mobile booking systems."
